Charles Hamilton Sorely
Charles Hamilton Sorely (1895-1915) - A Scottish poet who was sent to the Western Front in 1915 after several months of training with the Suffolk Regiment, he was promoted to captain within three months. Sorely was killed by a sniper in October 1915. He left 37 completed poems. In 1916 his poems were compiled in a successful book, " Marlborough and other poems". Date: circa 1914
