Brigadier General Douglas Macarthur (1880-1964), American army officer of the 84th Brigade, 42nd Division, receiving the DSM (Distinguished Service Medal) from General John Pershing (1860-1948) at Remagen in Rhenish Prussia, Germany, a few months after the end of the First World War. Date: 16 March 1919
