The Bridgend Unions cottage homes at Merthyr Mawr Road, to the south of Bridgend. The homes, opened in 1879, housed pauper children away from the workhouse. The cottages, arranged around a green, each accommodated around 10 boys or girls plus a house-parent. Date: circa 1913
