13th century Brechin Cathedral, Scotland. Immediately adjoining the cathedral to the southwest stands the Round Tower, built about 1000 A.D. A more common sight in Ireland, the only Scottish examples of towers such as these are those at Brechin and Abernethy in Perthshire. Date: circa 1910s
