Bonsecours, France - Le Bourdon (heavy bell)
Bonsecours, France - Le Bourdon (heavy bell) - The Big Leon is a drone, a big bell of over 6 tons melted in the workshops Drouot in Douai, in the North in 1892. It was originally to be placed in the steeple of the Basilica at Bonsecours, but was to heavy to be borne by the tower. It was therefore installed in front of the Basilica in a cage as can be seen on this postcard. Date: circa 1910s
