Body of the late King George of Greece to Athens 1913

The body of the late King George of Greece was conveyed with all state from Salonica, where he was assassinated in the hour of his countrys victory, to the capital city of Athens. The coffin surmounted by the late monarchs military cap, was places upon a gun-carriage which was guarded by naval and military detchments. Photograph was just as the procession was setting out from the Cathedral to the Larissa Station in Athens for conveyance by rail to the family mausoleum at Tatoi, where the late King had a summer house. Date: 1913
