Archbishop Germanus, Metropolitan of the Greek Church in Western and Northern Europe, taken specially for The Sphere, showing him crowned and wearing his elaborate and beautiful gold-stitched robes. In his right hand he holds the Cross, symbol of faith, and in his left, the rod of wisdom and power. The inset picture shows a Bible with a scene of the crucifixion embossed on its solid silver cover. Archbishop Germanus conducted the second wedding between the Duke of Kent and Princess Marina of Greece according to the rites of the Greek Orthodox Church in the Royal Chapel of Buckingham Palace.
