Arbuthnot Trophy - British Navy interfleet crosscountry Race
The Arbuthnot Trophy (Marathon) - a British Navy interfleet crosscountry running race - named after Rear-Admiral Sir Robert Keith Arbuthnot, 4th Baronet ) - a British Royal Navy officer during World War I who met his death at the Battle of Jutland. There were 400 participants in this race, held in the Dardanelles. The Trophy was won on this occasion by the crew of the Iron-Duke Class battleship, The Iron Duke. Date: 1923
