The thirteenth century copy of the Magna Carta, bought by the Australian Commonwealth National Library from Kings School, Bruton, Somerset, being handed over to the Australian High Commissioner Sir Thomas White by Lord Blackford, representing the Governors of the School. The document was presented at Australia House, London on October 4th 1952, and cost 12, 500 at the time. It is a copy of Edward Is confirmation of the Magna Carta and is dated October 12th 1297"
