WW1 - 96th Battalion (Canadian Highlanders) - Allied Flags
WW1 - Humorous patriotic postcard in support of the 96th Battalion (Canadian Highlanders), an infantry battalion of the Great War Canadian Expeditionary Force. Here, a red-faced comedic German General (on an equally-ridiculous steed) announces that if the Canadian Highlanders are coming, he is " Lost" ! Authorised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on 28th November 1915 and embarking for Britain on 27th September 1916, its personnel on arrival were absorbed by the 92nd Battalion (48th Highlanders), CEF to provide reinforcements for the Canadian Corps in the field. The battalion officially disbanded on 8th October 1916. Date: 1916
