Vlamertinghe Chateau, subject of Edmund Blunden poem
Blunden wrote the poem, On Passing Vlamertinghe Chateau in July 1917 in which he describes Poppies by the million. The Chateau survived the war and at the time that this photo was taken it was still in private hands. Outside is an information board which quotes the poem in English and Flemish. Date: 2016
