Unusual corn bin, Dahomey (now the Republic of Benin), West Africa. Made of earthenware, it was peculiar to the Konkombwa people of Tschopowa. Filled from the top and holding several tons of grain, it gives effective protection against fire, rats and other vermin. Date: circa early 1930s
