The Epilogue Ball - costumes of famous magazines
Examples of costumes seen at the Epilogue Ball, held at the close of the International Advertising Convention at Olympia in July 1924. The women involved were dressed as various well-known weekly magazines of the time including The Sphere (top pic), The Tatler, (bottom left) and The Sketch (bottom right). The Tatler group, dressed in the famous costume of the eighteenth century dandy adorning the titles cover, won first prize. See picture number 11090452 for an impression by Sphere artist Fortunino Matania of the procession itself, with the Sphere ladies, in spherical costume, centre stage. Date: 1924
