Foundations and masonry in the process of construction during the building of the Assiut or Asyut Barrage on the River Nile in Egypt, about 350 miles downstream of the original Aswan Dam. The Assiut Barrage was designed by British engineer Sir William Willcocks to divert water into Egypts largest irrigation canal, the Ibrahimiya Canal. Date: 1902
