Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Frederic Rollet (1875-1941), General in the French Foreign Legion, Regiment de Marche. Seen here during the First World War, probably at Verdun, northern France, with four others, where the RMLE (Regiment de Marche de la Legion Etrangere) won the legion d honneur for its regimental flag. Rollet was a legendary figure, known as Le Pere Legion. Date: circa 1917
