Battle of Ypres 1915
Saving the guns at Ypres. The Germans, tremendously reinforced, endeavoured to break through at Ypres. Part of the British line was compelled to retire temporarily, leaving six guns in an exposed position. Artillerymen and infantrymen at once reponded to the call, and dashed out on their perilous errand. Two of the weapons were saved under the eyes of the enemy. Date: February 1915
